What Is Binary Rotate Right?
Binary rotate right, commonly called ROR, is a circular bit operation that moves every bit toward the right. Any bit that passes beyond the right edge wraps around and becomes a bit on the left side.

Rotate Right vs Right Shift

A right shift discards the bit that leaves the right edge and normally adds a zero on the left. A right rotation preserves that outgoing bit by wrapping it around to the left.
Rotation Count Larger Than the Bit Width
Circular rotation repeats after one complete cycle. Therefore, the effective rotation is calculated using the rotation amount modulo the bit width.
Rotating by the Full Bit Width
Rotating a binary string by exactly its own width returns the original sequence because every bit completes one full circular movement.
Rotate Right vs Rotate Left
Right and left rotations move in opposite directions and can undo each other when the same effective rotation count is used.
